Accomodation Craftmanship Sports Natural areas Towns Leisure Services Travel

The Mediterranean Sea bequeathed MALAGA with beaches that cover more than 150 kilometers. Malaga is a privileges place because its mountain ranges, covered with small picturesque towns, contrast with its shoreline providing an ideal geography, capable of meeting the expectations of the demanding visitors.

Malaga, with its old Phoenician influence (manifest in its gardens, monuments, the Alcazaba, the Gibralfaro castle, a roman theater, and museums of archeology, fine arts, religion, and popular customs), is meeting point for the Andalusian people, and boasts the largest colony of foreighn visitors. Malaga offers a modern airport which is only 8 kilometers from the capital, and joins it with all the major European, American and African cities. A suburban railway provides service along the Costa del Sol (Sun Coast) to the town of Fuengirola. There are scheduled sea lines to the Canary Islands, Melilla, Tangiers, and the Italian city of Genoa. For roadbound travellers, Malaga offers complete bus services, magnificient roads and a splendid, new highway.

If we begin our journey through the province in Ronda (home of bullfighting, the impressive Tajo, palaces, and manors), we will enter an ample and impressive landscape that begins in Axaruquía (producer of raisin wines), and extends through the monumental town of Antequera, Dolmen de Menga, and El Torcal, where nature sculpted a unique landscape of narrow passages and rough, pathless places where it seems like the rocks would like to take human forms and walk away.

On the Costa del Sol, Torremolinos is a great city and tourist cente with a convention and exposition facility, and excellent beaches. Benalmádena, Fuengirola, and Marbella offer three pleasure harbors, as well as important golf and equestrian clubs. San Pedro de Alcántara is beautiful; Estepona is a fishing village, and Manilva solitary. Nerja is on a cliff, and honored with a magnificent cavern that has become a theater for spectacles and ballets. Torrox, Torre del Mar, Rincón de la Victoria are also legendary.

Malaga with an unparalleled offering of lodging facilities, in Andalusia, has become the Andalusian coast for the whole world.
