| Seville | | The Bullfighting Ring |

This building was constructed after 1761 in the outskirts of the
City and had an open space towards the street all around the ring,
from that they still preserve the street named "Circo".
At a later date buildings were constructed around it hiding part of
the structure.
The main facade of the Plaza is situated towards the West bordering
the Guadalquivir and Triana. Its gate is called " del Príncipe"
and has an arch with lateral columns that sustain a balcony with
stairs. Being carried on people's shoulders, leaving this gate is
the golden dream of the bullfighter.
The building surrounds an area, the "ruedo", with circular
form but with deformations that take into consideration the distance
between the columns of the arch; an architectural informality that
gives it a singular grace. The circunference is restricted by a
wooden barrier which behind it has an alley, where the bullfighters
and subordinates stand.
The siting area has bleachers at a slight upward slope called
"tendidos". Near the top of the slope the seating area
is covered by a low roof sustained by arches with marble columns.
In the higher part of bleachers, over the main entrance, one finds
the Prince's Seating Area (Palco del Príncipe). There exits
other simple examples as replica, right over the gate of the bull corral.
Because of the general outline of the plaza and its outstanding
proportion, a visit inside produce a grand impression of the
memories of Andalusia.
