CAZORLA SIERRA |
To the east of Sierra Morena there is a mountainous massif that connects it with the
Bética range and closes the valley of the Guadalquivir river. It presents a complicated
relief with deep clefts, the main part contained in the Natural Park of
the Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Sierras, whose interior births the
Guadalquivir and the Segura rivers and a Mediterranean vegetation of wild olive
trees, kermes oaks, holm oaks, junipers and species of noble brushwood.
A large part is populated with different types of pines.
At the same time there exist extensive olive groves that give an oil
of great quality.
|
|
The route borders the park and it is possible to enjoy its rich fauna:
the mountain goats, the deer, the wild boar, and two species that were
introduced to the area, the mouflon and the fallow deer.
The end of this route goes through an area which contrasts with the almond trees
with its varied coloring and unchanging olive trees. More than 100 classes of birds
populate this area.
